Its a funny thing when someone comes into your life and you suddenly forget what life was like before. I know this may sound cliché, but its the truth.
When I met your uncle i thought I had become the luckiest girl in the whole world. I quickly realized that I had not even begun to understand the luck I had stumbled upon.
When I came into your life you were two, now you are six. Time has flown by and you went from being a crazy tot to now having interests and opinions of your very own.
Our relationship grows as the years go on. We bond over our love of tea parties, unicorns and all things imagination. You confide in me your interest in boys. I remind you that although a boy being cute is a great quality, how he treats you and makes you feel is a big priority. You get embarrassed when I dance to loud music, but you eventually join in on the fun. You hate how I do your hair, but you love when our outfits accidentally match. We have secret inside jokes, and you know I am here for you no matter what.
I know we are not related by blood, but my love for you will never end. I will be here to cheer you on when you succeed or pick you up when you fall. I would ask time to slow down and keep you little forever, but I know there is so much that you will accomplish in your life. I am so blessed that I get a front row seat to watch you blossom into the young woman you will become.
The day you found out your uncle had proposed to me you were so excited! I told you I was going to officially be your aunt, and you said "I thought you were already my aunt". You could not contain your excitement and you kept saying how thrilled you were to have me as your aunt forever. You may not always remember that moment, but it is surely one that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
So here's to us in hopes that our relationship continues to grow and only becomes stronger from this day forward.

To celebrate the first day of fall we decided to throw a farewell summer tea party.

XOXO, Courtney
